So here's the deal.
used to sell the most amazing BBQ flavor. I would buy it at
and, more often than not, consume it within 24 hours. Apparently my voracious appetite was not enough though, and they stopped making it. As a BBQ addict, my popcorn consumption drastically plummeted after this discovery. Last week however, I started thinking about it again (like any good food obsession) and decided to see if I could make my own. Well, it was
to the rescue. They had the best recipe which I am delighted to share with you here.
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder*
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard powder
3 tablespoons grape seed oil**
1 bag microwave popcorn
In a small bowl, mix the garlic salt, smoked paprika, sugar, onion powder, chili powder, table salt, and mustard until evenly combined.
Cook the microwave popcorn according to the bag's directions.
Remove the popcorn from the microwave and pour it into a large bowl. Drizzle the oil over the popcorn, shaking it gently to evenly distribute the oil over all the pieces.
Shake some of the spices over the popcorn and gently shake the bowl again. Repeat this a couple more times until the seasonings are all used up and evenly distributed.
*I didn't have onion powder, so I went without.
**I used olive oil instead.
Also, I had a lot of trouble publishing this post so I apologize if it showed up in your readers/inboxes/bloglovin/feedly/etc. twice.
