I was reading Martha Stewart Living when I saw this simple and brilliant suggestion…replace crackers with dried fruit. Specifically, dried pairs. Genius! I tried it last weekend with goat cheese and it was absolutely delicious. I think it would also be fabulous with some chopped almonds and honey mixed together. I used pears from my NatureBox subscription and I have to say, they were really wonderful and full of flavor. You could also just dry your own. Here's a recipe if you want to go that route!
