interior inspiration // bedside sconces

It's no secret that I love interior design. I spend hours pouring over shelter magazines, blogs and Pinterest looking for inspiration. When you look, and look and look as often as I do…you start to notice trends (like the bamboo shades I shared a few weeks ago).

Well, I've found another interior designer secret that I'm obsessed with…bedside sconces.

They're perfect for a small bedroom where you're limited to a tiny nightstand (or when you don't have a bedside table at all). But of course, they really work in any room. Take a look and you'll see what I mean...

They create a fort-like feel when hung directly over the bed.

And they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

A swing-arm is a nice adjustable option for late night reading. It allows you extra light when you need it, but you can push it out of the way when you don't.

They're even charming in a kid's room…I mean, Miles Redd can do no wrong.

This gray room is so chic, and I love that patterned headboard.

Here sconces are paired with a bedside lamp. It works because the lamp isn't directly next to the bed, but really you can never have too many lights.

These are almost like lanterns.

And here swing-arm lamps flank the bed, while another sconce hangs over the bedside table…proving anything goes.

Do you have sconces or lamps next to your bed? We have lamps right now, but I'm planning on switching to sconces when we finally get to redecorating the bedroom.

Here are a few of my favorites…

sconces at good price points, classic sconces, restoration hardware sconces
