a quick tip for healthy eating

Well we're all about the tips on the blog this week. Perhaps I need a tip on how to post on time! I *swear* have a bunch of great posts all queued up, but Mike and I started watching True Detective on HBO and, well, I didn't post anything.

Lo siento. 

I would like to offer this delightful video from Michael Pollan on healthy eating as a peace offering. 

Mr. Pollan has written a lot about food ,and I've discussed how his advice helped shape my eating mantra here. If you haven't read his work this clip is a great introduction to his common sense approach to healthy eating. 

The bottom line?

"Eat anything you want, just cook it yourself." -Michael Pollan

Normally Mike works pretty late so we don't eat together. However, last week he was home earlier (#slacker) so we cooked a couple of delicious meals together (#romantic). Sometimes I think our homemade meals while delicious, are of questionable nutritional value (think carbonara, pizza, tacos, stir fry...someone has the palate of a six-year-old #notme). However, Mr. Pollan reminds us here that homemade really is best. 

Bring on the pasta.
