As we speak I am in picturesque Mont-Tremblant, Canada. Mike and I flew up here for the weekend to cheer on one of our friends as he competes in the Ironman. For the record, an Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a FULL marathon. A full marathon after all of that! Insanity.
In other news, I want everyone to know that I am now taking 100% of my style inspiration from this five-year-old.
I mean, I can't. He is so cute. You can follow him (actually his mother) on Instagram at @luisafere. And you can find me wearing his exact same outfits immediately following.
Speaking of style upgrades. Our bathroom counter had always been kind of pathetic. It's glass and gets messy really quickly, so we used to keep it pretty empty (nothing other than a three dollar CVS brand soap pump). However, I secretly hated it (I know, I know, may my problems always be so small). So, after an inspirational Pinterest session a few weeks ago I decided to dedicate my Saturday to zhushing up our countertop. I found a great little silver tray and the most amazing smelling candles at the Brooklyn Flea. Top it off with some yummy Caldeara soap that I snagged at TJ Maxx and we had a makeover.
The best part? I just discovered that West Elm sells the exact same Apotheke candles on their website! I am normally not the biggest scent person, but trust me when I say that I agonized over which candles to buy because they all smelled amazing. I finally settled on grapefruit (for summer) and tobacco (like the plant, not the byproduct) which reminded me of my time in North Carolina. I will definitely be going back for honeysuckle next time.
And you know what else got a makeover this week? This little blog! I cannot thank Kelly enough for the amazing work she did. She listened to my vision and interpreted it in ways that were above and beyond anything I could have imagined. If any of you are looking for a graphic designer I cannot recommend her enough.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Mine will be tech-free, but I cannot wait to share pictures next week!
