Saturday Smattering

Happy Weekend my friends!

Every week I feel like there are so many things I want to share with you, but somehow life gets in the way and I end up missing a lot of them. To remedy this situation I thought we could start a series called Saturday Smattering...a small look at the things I missed sharing during the week.

I recently picked up two new cookbooks. Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi is filled with vegetable recipes that even my veggie-phobic husband can't turn down, and Smitten Kitchen by Deb Perelman which is just as delightful as it's namesake blog. It's filled with gorgeous step-by-step photos and easy to follow recipes.

Even I was able to master her mushroom tart. #smallmiracle

I snagged these two lamps (and shades) at the Anthropologie sale. I'm feeling pretty good about the whole thing.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I finally stopped by the Rain Room at MOMA. The line is generally 3-4 hours long right now, but we discovered that if you're willing to observe (aka stand next to the rain, not under) the line is about ten minutes. So that's what we did and I don't feel like I missed anything other than a terrible line.

We went to Rosa Mexicano last week (my favorite place in the city) and felt like this was just generally amusing.

I discovered this Pinterest board and I seriously considered having a child right.this.second. (Just kidding Mike!...kind of).

I bit the bullet this week and upgraded to a 50mm lens. Which reminded me of camera accessories and how much I still love these whimsical Bloom Theory camera straps. Moving 'em to the top of the wishlist.

My friend Jess and I stopped by West Elm where we got some serious DIY inspiration. Stay tuned next week for a paper flower tutorial.

This slideshow is just pages and pages inspiration.

Lastly, let's just give a shout out to Rose. This braid is exactly what I picture when I think about the perfect summer updo. I have an event Sunday night and I'm seriously considering channeling this look. Bravo!

So, what do you think? Did you like the smattering? Was it too scattered? Tell me what you want!
