There is nothing better than starting a summer day with a smoothie. Depending on what's in our fridge, I have been making some variation of this recipe.
  • almond milk with cinnamon or coconut water 
  • frozen fruit (berries, peaches, pineapple, etc.)
  • fresh spinach
  • a banana
  • almond butter (I like Justin's Vanilla Almond Butter)
I used to use a Magic Bullet and that worked fairly well (especially because it made the perfect single serving size). However a few months ago the motor burned out, so now I use a Vitamix blender (thank you wedding registry). I do love it, but if you can't afford one I completely endorse the good-old Magic Bullet. It lasted me about four years in heavy rotation before it gave out, and it is really well priced ($50 here). Do you have a smoothie recipe you love?
