Last Saturday I finally made my way down to the Chelsea Flea Market. Located on 25th between 6th and 7th, it was smaller than I expected and much more authentically-flea-markety than it's Brooklyn counterpart. Some vendors had a more curated selection, like a guy who was selling cast iron sculptures (sorry no pics) and others were completely random (think VCR next to fur coat beside old silverware).
I particularly liked the vendors who were selling African beads, carpets and fabrics. They were also selling these incredible beaded chairs (pictured above). It looked like they might need a little TLC, but they would be incredible in the right room.
I didn't end up buying anything, but I will definitely be going back soon. The good part about this market is you can score some real gems if you dig. The bad part is that you have to dig. But that's what flea markets are all about right?
