If September is the month of fashion magazines, I declare October the month of interior design. Or at least this October. The shelter magazines have absolutely outdone themselves this month, with page after page of inspiring and original designs.
How do I know?
We spent the weekend in Vegas (woo!) so I was able to fully catch up on the news stands. Because, you know, most people go to Vegas to read.
For those of you long-time readers, you may remember my absolute obsession with Hammer and Spear. Their home was featured in Lonny a few years ago and it's one of the designs (and stores) that I revisit again and again.
Their style is so beautifully curated and the design is so holistic and thoughtful. Basically, exactly what you'd expect the Toms founder (and his adorable wife) to be drawn to.
The rooms feel thoughtfully collected, not overly decorated, as one beautiful, comfortable room flows into another.
It's hard to have oars in a room without it feeling too campy, but this entry almost reminds me of a Ralph Lauren window (that's a compliment). I also love that the kitchen is so different than what a lot of people are doing these days (no white marble here). I'm super into using different materials for counter tops right now (concrete, raw wood, etc.) but these brass ones take the cake. So unexpected and they'll only look better with time.
Love the look of the layered rugs and tables.
Wherever they're shopping for rugs, I want in.
