Thank you all for your sweet comments yesterday! I'm so excited to be working with Homepolish and I cannot thank you enough for your support!
Today, I want to share a guest bedroom makeover that I've been working on for some clients in Connecticut this year. (You might recognize it from the Design Services example). It has finally finished and been photographed so I can share it with you!
The project was a guest room. My client's mother frequently stays there, so we wanted to create a space where she would be happy and comfortable. Here is a picture of the room before.
Gorgeous light right? The room really wasn't in bad shape. Like many guest rooms, it was more of an after thought. Although the bed is pretty, the client didn't like it. It was an online purchase and when it arrived there was a gap between the headboard and the bed so although you can't see it here, it didn't look great in person.
She wanted to work with a palette of blue and white (and of course I was immediately on board!). Here is what we ended up with.
A small picture frame gives guests the name of the wifi and the password to make them feel at home.
We put a water carafe on the bedside table and these amazingly real-looking rubber plants from Crate and Barrel. It's hard enough to keep real plants alive, let alone plants in a room that you don't always use. I say it's perfectly acceptable to cheat.
The dresser holds any travel accessories your guests may need (+ chocolate of course).
I may go into a second business of making feathers headdresses. If you missed the original tutorial you can find it here.
The entire project was a blast thanks to my delightful clients and their total trust in the project. We also used this gorgeous rug (which didn't end up in the pictures, but it adds a lot to the room!).
