Last week I mentioned my love of the fabric on this window (designed so beautifully by Ms. Lilly Bunn). Well, the fabric itself was designed by Josef Frank, a renowned architect and designer.
Frank was no one-hit-wonder. In fact, his designs are well known throughout Sweden where he fled after the Nazi's occupied his native Austria.
Oh. Bet you didn't think you were getting a history lesson here today did you?
Once in Sweden, Frank started to design for the firm Svenskt Tenn, where you can still buy his fabrics today.
So let's take a look at some more of his designs.
Can you spot his fabrics in the rooms below? (Hint, it's pretty obvious).
Using such a busy and colorful fabric on a couch is a bold choice, but it works here thanks to the toned-down hues of the rest of the room.
Happiness just radiates out of this room. I love the mix of pillows with the bench.
This is from an adorable and sunny hotel in the Hamptons called The Maidstone, which uses Josef Frank fabrics throughout their property.
