Good morning my friends! My apologizes for the lack of posting this week. As I mentioned, I was in Cincinnati for my future sister-in-law’s bachelorette party and a busy + fun weekend equaled life (aka prioritizing) getting in the way of posting.
But, moving on! While in Cincinnati we stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel. I’m loath to say that it was “unexpectedly cool” for the Midwest, because as a Midwesterner at heart I hate when people say that. The truth is the Midwest is full of tons of cool things (hello Ann Arbor, Chicago, Detroit, Shinola, The Mitten State, the list is endless).
So I will say this, the 21c Museum Hotel is unexpectedly cool. Period.
It would be just as awesome if it was in the heart of the West Village, or Prague or Buenos Aires.
The exhibits rotate to each stay is like a visit to a different museum. The lobby looked completely different while we were there (check out my Instagram today for a peek at what we saw).
Modern art is scattered throughout the museum (so even waiting for the elevator turns into a gallery experience). For the more committed, the second floor is a dedicated gallery space.
The hotel was full of quirky touches like these plastic penguins (which they encouraged you to move around the hotel), rubber ducks and tiles that featured a wide range of body parts (the ear being one of the more conservative selections).
