Guys, I'm in a fashion rut.
Blame it on the cold weather but my wardrobe has the winter blahs.
So, in honor of my fresh "British" cut, I decided to look across the pond for a little inspiration to shake things up.
First up, Sienna Miller.
Her Golden Globes look was insane (and truthfully, the final push to make me cut my hair). However, it's Sienna's street style that I've always admired. It takes a lot to make freezing temperatures look this chic.
I've tried to follow Miller's lead this week by trading in my black puffy-nylon coat for a wool coat that I haven't worn in a while. Our front hall closet is full of coats (95% mine) that I never wear. I just pull out the same (black puffy) one again and again (and the same hat, and gloves, and scarf). When temperatures really drop, I'll be reaching back for that nylon coat. However, until then it's fun to try out some other options.
Here's a trick. When it's colder, I layer a thin down jacket underneath my wool coat for extra warmth. That way you can wear lighter coats into the winter.
How polished does she look here? Despite that fact that it almost look like pajamas, Miller keeps things polished with a v-neck sweater and some chunky heels. And this long-skirt look? Amazing. Who knew a cropped fur sweater could be anything other than tragic?
Stripes, on stripes and a sparkly mini-dress with black booties? Yes please.
Here she is look cute and cozy. A good hat can hide a myriad of sins and those moccasins are a fashionable choice (when you really just want to wear Uggs).
I've been trying to branch out from my jeans + sweater + boot routine this week. Stay tuned for more fashion inspiration next week.
