Last weekend I attended the Pop Up Flea in New York. The event featured a lot of cool companies from around the U.S. and was the brainchild of a bunch of menswear minds. In their words, "It involves, in no specific order: good people, better things, expert craftsmanship, exercises in refinement, brands you love, up-and-coming designers, and menswear done right."
It was a great event and I was excited to learn about several brands that I'm going to share with you over the next few weeks. First up, Topo Designs. I wouldn't call it a sporting goods company (that sounds far too big box) but they make that kind of gear. From backpacks and duffels to camping blankets and water bottles, they have anything you could need for a camping or hiking excursion. They also have a line of men's clothing that reminds me of the vests and jackets that my dad has had for decades. Everything is produced in the U.S. and the company is based out of Colorado. Their dreamy pictures are enough to give you a serious case of wanderlust.
I've already admitted to being a card carrying backpack wearer (so let's safely move me out of the "fashion blogger" category). And while my trusty old pack (a giveaway no less) often reminds me of this Nora Ephron essay, I wouldn't mind replacing it with one of these beauties. Their recent collaboration with Woolrich is particularly charming.
Here are a few of their different styles and designs (with some picture perfect scenery just for kicks). Check out their entire selection here.
